Slow Dance ‘22 is the London label and collective’s annual showcase of their previous year’s top picks and hidden gems of new talent. The 13-track compilation is characteristically genre-fluid, spanning compositions and collaborations from emerging bands, producers and songwriters that have been carefully selected by the boutique label. With the label releasing one 3-tracker single every other day from Friday 13th January 2022 until 25th January, when the entire opus is out on all streaming platforms. Previous compilations have been a disclosure of what's brewing in the UK Underground, previously featuring early tracks from otta, Khazali, Folly Group, heka, Butch Kassidy, comfort and Lynks, as well as solo debuts from members of Sorry, black midi, PVA and Goat Girl. As the seventh edition of compilation series, those in the know look forward to it every year, with Slow Dance being praised by Dazed as ‘cutting edge’ players at the forefront of the London DIY music scene and a ‘creative powerhouse’ by Pitchfork. 2019’s compilation was described by The Quietus as a ‘testament to the label’s commitment to multi-genre excellence’.
