TCS Charity Night w/ Milk Disco, Raisa K, Glows, Suitman Jungle
We are putting on a charity night to raise money for The Children's Society for those young people who need our help most in these troublesome times.
"Working with young people across the UK, The Children’s Society is a charity with a founding principle of equal access and opportunity for the forgotten young people of this country. Having worked directly with over 18000 children in the past year, including young refugees, they make sure no one is left behind by tackling such wide-ranging issues such as child exploitation and mental health disorders, as well as fighting for the right to education and accommodation. The charity is also engaged with government lobbying, equipping the decision makers in this country with the knowledge of what those struggling in poverty really need, something that is sorely overlooked by the current government."
All profits go to charity.
Slow Dance Birthday w/ Coby Sey, Japan Blues + Jerkcurb
This April we’re celebrating our birthday with a special night of music, films and art. Join us at the new gallery space Fieldworks in London Fields, with a carefully selected lineup of our favourite DJs, producers and visual artists currently working in London
Coby Sey is a London producer and DJ and founder of the South London Curl collective. As a frequent collaborator with Mica Levi and Tirzah his sound spans the realm of sample based productions, classical and experimental music that pushes the boundaries of conventional genres. With brilliant regular NTS shows and a forthcoming Whities EP, we’ve very lucky to have him down for a 2 hour set.
Howard Williams aka. Japan Blues is a local legend of the record industry, having worked for several years at Honest Jon’s Records assembling some of the best reissues of recent history such as Moondog’s ‘The Viking on Sixth Avenue’ and a collection of music from Maki Asakawa. He best knows as an avid collector of Japanese records, with a regular NTS show displaying his unparalleled knowledge of eastern music. He has also recently released his first LP ‘Japan Blues Sells His Record Collection’ to wide acclaim. It is very rare to catch a Japan Blues DJ set so it is an honour to have him down for our birthday, not one to miss!
Asha Lorenz B2B GLOWS (Live AV)
Asha Lorenz is the lead singer of grunge band FISH, with a unique guitar style she has been heralded as one of the rising stars of 2017 having played with the likes of Dean Blunt, Whitney and Wolf Alice.
Glows has been with Slow Dance since the very beginning as a cofounder and resident DJ, hosting regular NTS, Balamii and SE10 shows. Together they will be playing a medley of their individual and collaborative productions with live projections.
