Uma was born in Catalunya in 1995 to a British mother and a Thai father. Her time in Thailand traveling as a child with her parents had a large influence on her work. Her love for music brought her to studying it at University of York, where her first band Sur was started. After graduating she stayed thoroughly involved in music. She currently is preparing the release of his first EP and has already released two singles, Silver Tongue and Mockingbird. Uma’s music branches from love and loss, but uniquely she often writes her lyrics from a third party perspective, ''I write from and for the people I love and the issues I care about.’ Her sound was greatly inspired by and is comparable to Josephine Foster , Syble Baker and Karen Dalton.

Uma moves in between experimental folk and ambient music, creating with her warm voice a unique and absolutely personal aura." - IndieSpot
